SOLO SUP™ BACKCOUNTRY

The Solo SUP™ is a breakthrough in size, weight, portability, modularity, and integration. The development process was an exercise in the art of Japanese organization principles with a focus on “Sparking Joy” in the Konmari way. Our team spent many long weekends packing, repacking, designing, and redesigning until we hit the size, weight, and modularity goals we set out to achieve.

Driven by the challenge to reduce bulk and to save space, it lead us to the revolutionary new paddle blade design of the Solo™ Paddle, the soft rollable paddle blade. It is configurable as both a full-size SUP paddle and a Pack Raft canoe paddle. It’s extremely lightweight, compact, modular, and space-efficient.

Great value, comes with everything you need, and it's lightweight!

This paddleboard setup is a great value; I love that it comes with everything. The quality is solid, and it's very light. I also have the Big EZ Hawaiian, and my biggest complaint has been how heavy and bulky it is for me to lug around (I'm 5'5"). This one still gives me the stability I want, in a lightweight, easy to carry package. It also feels a little faster on the water to me.

The bag is big enough to not only fit all of the items, but also large enough to carry other essentials, like a towel, change of clothes, snacks, etc.

I like the dual action on the hand pump, but it's a workout. I recommend carrying an automatic one if you're not hiking in somewhere. The paddle is an innovative design that keeps it light and packable, but I do prefer my carbon fiber paddle when I'm not hiking in somewhere as well.

A great package deal

This set is complete and ready to use right out of the box. It is clearly labeled to assemble correctly and is sleek and attractive. My one issue was that the pump is short (in order to fit in the bag) but I am tall so my back was tired after pumping it up. I ended up getting an electric pump designed for paddle boards, and now I love it! It is light weight and easy to carry and has medium stability but travels well.

Had to replace paddle and backpack

I am a woman, 5' 6" in decent shape and I often hike in the mountains here in Alaska.

I recently hiked my Pau Hana Backcountry board to its first mountain lake. This paddleboard is marketed as a "hikeable" paddleboard. This was a test hike, as this trail is rugged, lots of incline and mountainous, but only 2 miles. When I bought this board I had intentions to hike up to 10 miles with this board. Reviewers already stated that the paddle was disappointing and recommended replacement. I agree with that assessment and had already ordered a carbon fiber paddle. The paddle that comes with the board is just too flimsy.

The board itself is great, super lightweight and I had no problems standing.

I am disappointed with the backpack. The waistband straps are thin with no padding, and awkward placement. The chest strap is clearly not made with women in mind... did not fit me at all. No padding between yourself and the board. The shoulder straps are too long and I couldn't tighten them enough to have it high enough on my back to be comfortable. Someone with a bigger frame might not have these issues. This made the hike more difficult and uncomfortable. The weight was unable to be distributed properly. I would be willing to carry a bit extra weight if it meant having a decent backpack with padding. I wish the waistband was better. This pack is not a hiking pack and shouldn't be labeled as such. I'm happy with the board, but will have to be replacing this backpack.

Excellent SUP, excellent Customer Service

Overall this is a great purchase. The board is sturdy, it inflates/deflates easily, packs well and is incredibly lightweight. I have been impressed with how well it tracks, even in rough water. The paddle could use some improvements. It's heavier than I expected and it takes some time to get used to, with the soft, collapsible paddle. The dry bag is useful and everything inside is packed nicely to stay organized and clean. You can lose weight in the pack if you don't take everything in the bag and condense it down. I highly recommend this SUP if you're looking for something lighter than most inflatables and you want to step up your backpacking trips!

Perfectly sized and sturdy.

We were immediately drawn to this board due to its compact size. We have two of the regular size inflatables, which we love for daily use but we were looking for something with a smaller footprint for family vacations when trunk space is at a premium. We were so happy to find this board, which is so easy to store. We thought the smaller size might make it less sturdy and durable but that’s not the case at all. It feels great on the water and both my husband (6 ft 3) and I (5 ft 5) remarked about how sturdy it feels. Being on the water, you’d have no idea it packs up so small. We are ready to get another!
